"AI" Policy

At Modelist, we oppose the destruction of environmental, social or economic spaces and the basic human right of privacy, and the resulting dehumanization, through the use of so-called "AI" (a pure marketing term), all for the sole benefit of the already obscenely wealthy.

"AI" is built upon a flagrant disrespect for other people's (creative) work, is devastating artists' livelihoods and serves no discernable positive purpose in society.

We believe that "AI" has absolutely no place in our hobby.

Personally, I feel "AI" looks and feels cheap, tacky, fake. It's a mark of low quality. Whenever I see a company use Computer-Rendered Artificial Pictures it immediately devalues, even ruins its reputation in my eyes. I can't help but feel using "AI" is a sign of disrespect towards both customers and staff. 

So: Modelist will never knowingly use or disseminate "AI" generated pictures, or will ever employ "AI" as a means of stealing ('collecting') personal data. 

 

The use of "AI" by Shopify (our webstore platform) is unfortunately out of our control, but will be limited as much as possible. One such example is sale via "agentic" channels, which has been disabled in the webshop.
