What's on my desk? Part 32.

Hi again,
First things first: I'll be closed on Thursday 15/08, as it's a public holiday. Friday I'll be open, though, so if you're making the bridge, feel free to drop by.
On Saturday I organized the first workshop in the store. We had a few people to do some basic figure painting. Everyone received the same Warhammer space marine (with optional heads) and Bruce taught us how to paint them properly. Here are the results (the yellow one on the left is mine :-) ):
I like how they're all the same figure, but everyone made their own interpretation.
On to the house.
I painted the back cut-offs black and finished the interior walls and added the floors. In the grey house I just painted the walls:
The café's ground and first floor received wallpaper. This are Reality in Scale products, printed on thin paper. I cut them in strips (like real wallpaper) and pasted it to the walls with white glue.
Here's some close-up pictures:
I'll need to clean up the seam lines and window cuts a bit more, but overall I like it. I'm also thinking about adding some baseboards and ceiling decorative frame. Hopefully the floor is straight enough for that...
Outside I added some Neutral Wash to the white crumbled plaster to tone down the brightness a bit. Same thing was done to re-darken the brick joints.
The shingle roof was also glued on. It looks a bit warped in the picture, but that's due to the picture angle and the fact that the back edge is cut off in an angle (the outside edge is longer than the inside). The roofs are on my list for this week.
Last thing I did: I added a painted ad on the café side. Again, Reality in Scale, this time they're waterslide decals. A bit thicker than I'd liked, but the effect is there.
I'll add another (half-)advertisement to the side of the grey building.
The Stuka and 35(t) are now definitely stalled. I can't continue on them without airbrushing parts, so I need to take them home for that. Which is what I did with the Virago I mentioned back in... April? (oops) Anyway, I finally got around to paint the parts, ready for further assembly (and detail painting):
That's it.
See you next week!
