What's on my desk? Part 130.

Good morning,

The heat wave last week was unpleasant, but we're seeing some reasonable temperatures the coming days. So that's good news already!

In July: the shop will be open on the 11th, closed the 21st. I'll be updating the agenda today/tomorrow.

Despite the scorching heat last week I was able to get some work done.

The McLaren is now sprayed bright white. The wing parts also have received their white coat. Now I can mask off and do the red colour.

Need to double down and get this one done...
I showed you a truck body last week with some paint damage. I mixed up some metal colours and repaired the damage. I resprayed the entire panel and gave the whole thing some coats of gloss varnish. Now I can start polishing it until it shines.
The Viggen also has received a first varnish coat, this one Satin. With the gloss knocked off, it already looks a lot more realistic and less toy-like.
In the exhaust pipe there are three petals of the thrust reverser. When the plane was sitting on the ground powered off, the pressure in the hydraulic system would drop and the top petal drooped down. I've glued the top petal at an angle to represent this:

I didn't like the dark green I airbrushed on the T-72, so I redid it in Tamiya XF-11 and masked off for the final black colour:
Finally, I got some colour on the Corsair cockpit parts. Mr. Color Interior Green H-058 is a good match for American cockpits of the period. I handpainted the boards black and drybrushed some light grey over it to bring out the instruments detail.
I have an Ammo 'cockpit interiors' set somewhere at home. I'll have to remember to bring it in to weather it further.
That's all.
See you next week!
